My name is Prabi Rana and I am a senior currently attending Roger Williams University.
I am a biology and chemistry double major with a minor in math. After graduating, I plan on
working to attain a PhD in genetics and then work in industry. My passion of science originates
from the excitement of discovery fueled by my never ending curiosity. In order to support my
curiosity and passion for science, I have participated in research at Roger Williams University
looking at the defense mechanism of cyanobacteria against viruses. Furthermore, I was selected
for a highly competetive REU at Umass Boston where I looked at the behvior of the
development of germ cells through the investigation of sperm replenishment during continous
breeding of zebrafish. Outside of my research experience I have worked as a mathematics tutor
and founded the asain american alliance at Roger Williams unviersity while serving as a
president for the first year of the club. Not only do I want to fufill my never ending curiosity but
I’d like to remind society of the thrill of science.
